Built for list hygiene — never for spam.
The clear line between legitimate verification and abuse. Verify contacts you have a right to email; harvesting, spamming, and harassment are out. Protecting the platform protects your deliverability.
01The spirit of this policy
EmailListChecker exists to make legitimate email better — cleaner lists, higher deliverability, fewer bounces. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) keeps the platform safe for everyone and protects our IP reputation, which directly protects your results. It applies to everyone who uses the Service and forms part of our Terms of Service.
Verify and email only contacts you have a genuine, lawful basis to contact. If you wouldn't be comfortable explaining where an address came from, don't process it here.
02Permitted use
The Service is built for, and welcomes:
- Verifying lists of customers, subscribers, leads, and contacts you collected with consent or another lawful basis.
- Cleaning and de-duplicating your own CRM, ESP, or marketing database.
- Real-time validation of sign-up forms to stop typos and fake addresses at the point of entry.
- Finding business contact details for legitimate B2B outreach where permitted by local law.
03Prohibited use
You must not use the Service to:
- Harvest or scrape email addresses you have no right to contact, or process lists bought from data brokers known to be non-consensual.
- Send spam — unsolicited bulk email, or any message that violates CAN-SPAM, GDPR/ePrivacy, CASL, or similar laws.
- Enable harassment, fraud, or phishing, or build lists targeting individuals to threaten, dox, or deceive them.
- Verify lists for malware, scams, or illegal goods distribution.
- Abuse the infrastructure — circumvent rate limits, probe for vulnerabilities, share credentials, or resell raw access without a reseller agreement.
- Process special-category data as the primary payload (e.g. lists defined by health, religion, or political affiliation) without a clear lawful basis.
04API & rate limits
API users must respect published rate limits and back off on 429 responses. Do not run distributed attacks against the verification endpoints, spoof source identifiers, or attempt to exhaust shared resources. We may throttle or suspend keys that threaten platform stability, with notice where practical.
05Enforcement
We investigate suspected violations and may, depending on severity, warn you, throttle usage, suspend the offending job or key, or terminate the account. For clear, serious abuse — spam operations, fraud, illegal content — we act immediately and may report to authorities.
For honest mistakes we contact you first and give you a chance to fix it. Bans are reserved for genuine, repeated, or egregious abuse.
06Reporting abuse
Seeing the Service misused, or receiving unwanted mail tied to it? Report it to [email protected] and we'll act. We take our sending reputation — and yours — seriously.
